Northern United Place is owned and managed by the N.W.T. Community Services Corporation.

Reverend Jim Ormiston and the Congregation of the Yellowknife United Church had a vision for a multi-purpose building that would meet the housing, social and spiritual needs of a growing community. The doors of Northern United Place opened on November 7, 1976.

We are the largest non-profit housing provide in Yellowknife. Income for our operations comes from our tenants, both commercial and residential. We play an important role in providing affordable housing in Yellowknife and are pleased to do so without any government funding to cover our operations.

Many seniors, new immigrants and people with mobility issues find Northern United Place a warm, safe and welcoming home.

The Corporation is managed by a volunteer Board of Directors consisting of 6 members from the Yellowknife United Church and 3 members representing the Yellowknife community.  Day to day management of the building is overseen by an Executive Director on behalf of the Board.

Located on the 1st to 3rd Floors, with access off 54th Street, our commercial space is 26,748 sq. ft. in size.  This space is currently occupied by Aurora College, Yellowknife Campus.

 Affordable living in yellowknife!

The Tower B Apartments (parallel to 54th Street) are bachelor (425 sq. ft.) and one bedroom units (600 sq. ft.) located on floors 4 through 10.  Each floor has 2 one-bedroom units and 10 bachelor units.

Located on the first and second floors, with access off Franklin Avenue, the multi purpose area has various sizes of rooms for rent, including a large auditorium and a commercial kitchen.
